Elementary Music & Technology Integration
Currently in his eleventh year teaching at Bedford Academy, Kevin has directed hundreds of musical performances at the school over the last decade. He helps Bedford Academy students discover and employ new and stimulating developments in information technology. He works with students in Bedford Academy’s fully equipped computer lab where each student has their own computer to work on. The goal is to exploit current knowledge and technology that can be integrated across all subjects in the school curriculum. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music as well as a Diploma in Jazz Studies from St. Francis Xavier University. Kevin went on to study computers and received his Diploma in Applied Information Technology from ITI.
Mr. MacDonald has amassed a wide range of experience as a professional performer and director. As a multi instrumentalist he performed with many bands and played on numerous recording sessions for many artists over the years. Kevin has composed music for various film and recording projects; one of which was featured at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. He worked for several theatre companies including Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia and Neptune Theatre. He was Music Director for the Stephenville Festival and was on team Halifax at Montreal’s Just for Laughs Comedy Festival North American Improv Championships. Kevin brings many years of professional experience and a passionate love of learning to his music and technology classes at Bedford Academy.
