Jeff Sangster

Grade Nine + Junior High Head

Born and raised in Pictou County, Nova Scotia, Mr. Sangster has been teaching at Bedford Academy since the fall of 2004.  Following his graduation from Acadia University in 1996, where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Physical Education and Nova Scotia teaching license, he spent the next 8 years in Toronto, ON.  During this time he began his teaching career at Somerset Academy in Markham, ON where he taught Physical Education for students from Junior Primary to Grade 8, in addition to being the Grade 8 Homeroom, Math and History teacher.  During his tenure at the school, Mr. Sangster coached a variety of school teams and also served two terms as President of the Small Schools Athletic Federation, the governing body for extra-curricular sports for over 60 private schools in the G.T.A.  Upon his arrival at Bedford Academy, Mr. Sangster began working with the senior students of the school and assumed the role of Junior High Head with the addition of South Wing and Academy Hall in the fall of 2005.  He is currently the Grade 9 Homeroom teacher and teaches Math to all Junior High students, in addition to teaching History to the Grade 8 class.  Mr. Sangster is a firm believer in the goal setting process, which allows all students to achieve the success they desire through hard work, communication and co-operation.
