Ms. Romme completed her undergraduate degree at York University where she received a Bachelor of Fine Art in Visual Art. During that time she became skilled with a variety of mediums and specialized in photography and printmaking. In her third year of University she travelled to Australia where she had the unique opportunity to study glasswork and typeset printing.
Following her fine art training, she worked as both a photographer and art teacher at a private studio. These roles confirmed her love of working with children and teaching. In 2015 she received her Bachelor of Education from the University of British Columbia, where she was awarded Agnes Phillips Scholarship in Education for integrating art throughout the elementary curriculum.
Ms. Romme is thrilled to have the opportunity to bring her passion for art into the classroom and share it with all the students at Bedford Academy. Picasso once said, “every child is an artist” and he was absolutely correct! Ms. Romme will encourage her students to try new things and celebrate creativity with their peers.
