Director, Nancy Wallace and International Science Fair Silver Medalist, Rachel Brouwer, recently traveled to Ottawa for a special meeting with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, as special guests of Speaker of the House, the Honourable Geoff Regan.
Congratulations Janani, Canada Wide Science Fair Gold Medallist and Discovery Centre Youth Award winner for 2017. Janani's project, the Antibacterial effects of Micro-emulsified essential oils and Chitosan Nanoparticles showed that e-coli bacteria can be killed using nanoparticles from common spices instead of treating with antiboiotics.
Special thanks to everybody for their donations to our Feed Nova Scotia food drive. Our Grade One class delivered a truck load of food to Feed Nova Scotia to help make the holiday season a little brighter for everybody.

Congratulations to Lydia and Desmond on their outstanding achievements representing Bedford Academy in the Nova Scotia Youth Running Series. Lydia earned a 3rd place finish out of 81 competitors in the mosquito girls division, while Desmond finished 29th out of 134 in the pee-wee boys division. Well done Lydia and Desmond.
