Ryan Penny signed with the Ottawa Senators in July of 2015 and currently plays for the Reading Royals, the ECHL affiliate of the Philadephia Flyers. In his first season of pro hockey, he signed with the AHL's Binghamton Senators in July and was in their camp in September. He was was sent to Evansville to start the year and recorded 10 goals and 13 assists with the Evansville Icemen throughout the season. Ryan played five years of junior hockey in the QMJHL from 2010-15. He started his career with the Moncton Wildcats, where he played 3 1/2 seasons, before he was traded to the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies midway through the 2013-14 season. In 2014-15, Penny set career highs in goals (32) and assists (38) while playing for the Huskies. Ryan served as the Moncton Wildcats team captain before moving to the Huskies, where he served as an alternate captain during the 2013-2014 season and team captain in his final year in the "Q". Ryan has continued to pursue his education along with his hockey career completing courses from both Acadia and Harvard University. Ryan’s hockey resume is full of leadership experience, as he has been team captain for Team Nova Scotia U-15, Team Nova Scotia U-16 and Team Atlantic U-17 where he compted in the World Under 17 Hockey Championship in Winnipeg, MB.
